We provide an opportunity for black librarians to exchange and share ideas, collaborate on library-related projects, promote professional development activities, sponsor scholarship initiatives, serve as a network for the sharing of information between librarians and para-professionals throughout the State of Indiana, and to establish channels of communication between black librarians and para-professionals statewide.

Picture of Mahasin AmeenMahasin S. Ameen, MLS has worked in libraries for almost 17 years. Her career has been multifaceted, including time in Library IT, behind the scenes as a page and administrative assistant and as an Adult Services Librarian.

In 2019 she accepted a position at IUPUI University Library as a Visiting Librarian liaison to the IUPUI School of Social Work. She now serves as the liaison to both the School of Social Work and the School of Informatics and Computing. In her free time, Mahasin enjoys reading, writing, woodworking and really misses hosting dinner parties.

Nikki Johnson works at IUPUI University Library as the liaison librarian to the Kelley School of Business and the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
